A Gold Dress And Double Headwrap

Earlier this month, a good friend of mine tied the knot. I had been pining for a wedding the whole first half of this year, so I was pretty excited when I got my invite. I didn't exactly prepare an outfit for this particular day. I just happened upon it once I shopped my closet.

I had found this dress when I was stocking Botique i2s and bought it for my mum. It didn't fit her so she gave it to me. It had just been hanging in my closet, waiting to be worn and I was super excited to bring it out for this special occasion.
I shared a pic on my Facebook and Instagram when I was searching for inspiration on how to style a gold dress. The best option I got was to wear it with black to let the gold stand out as the statement piece. So I paired it with a black statement necklace and pointy-toe sling backs. The dress is a bit on the big side so I added a belt to hold it in place, give the impression of a fuller skirt and define my almost non-existent waist, hi mummy tummy! I love turbans so I opted for a double headwrap with black and orange scarves to add more colour. A burgundy lip completed my outfit.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Thrifted
Heels: Nairobi CBD
Necklace: Botique i2s
Scarves: Botique i2s
Belt: New Delhi, India
