5 Style Resolutions For 2015

With each new year, there is the obvious desire to make better of it than we did in the previous 12 months. Many a-year, I have filled my New Year's resolution list with desires to lose weight, to wash my face every night, to eat healthier, etc. But with the completion of the first month of each new year, I had either failed miserably at fulfilling my resolutions or had completely forgotten what they were in the first place. In an effort to be more positive about resolutions, and to give myself morale to actually achieve each one, I chose to focus on a being more positive about my resolutions. Thus, I wanted to share with you 5 style-related resolutions you could focus on this year.

1. Love your body
Last year, I shared with you how I learned to love the body that I currently have and I want you to do the same. It's very easy to love the body you wish you and as a consequence hate the one you have. But the first step in any attempt to grow more confident about yourself is to accept the body you have now, with all its flaws, and to love it. It's all in your mind. Once you tell yourself that you are lovely just as you are, you will immediately see a change in your entire perspective of life.

2. Dress your current body
In line with No. 1 above, once you get to know your body, dress it appropriately. I'll be brutal here: if you are a size 16, find stylish clothes in that size and don't insist on wearing a smaller size. It always shows when people try to hide their true size by wearing clothes that in short will interfere with the flow of blood around your body.

3. Don't leave the house without a piece of jewellery

I struggle a lot with this these days. Start with basics like earrings and a watch, then once you get comfortable you could add a neckpiece, a ring or more and even bracelets.

4. Buy only what you love
...and will wear with more than one other item in your wardrobe. Avoid buying clothes that you can only wear once. Teach yourself to mix and match. And if you have any problems finding new ways to wear something you already own, don't hesitate to ask for help, that's what I'm here for!

5. Don't be afraid to try something new
There are so many different fashion trends out there just waiting to be explored. You might already have a style that you always fall back on but it doesn't hurt to try new ones. And who knows, you might just find some that you love and can add to your current wardrobe.

Which of these do you think would be a great resolution for you? Do share in the comments below.
