Ankara Skirt + Cropped Blazer

I have been late in joining the Ankara bandwagon and with good reason. I have never been a fun of the Kitenge fabric mostly because I associated it with elderly women and had been exposed to some very poorly tailored Ankara-esque clothes. So I steered clear of this trend until I came across some very youthful designs that made me make a 360 degree turn. I am in love with this trend. I even bought some fabric and embarked upon actually sewing some of those outfits I had been collecting. I don't trust tailors (have had some pretty nasty experiences), so with my mum's help, I made this Ankara A-line skirt. The origin of this skirt is a very long story. By the time I was done making it, I was not too happy but upon seeing the pictures, I have changed my mind.
I wore it to Church yesterday and paired it with my long neglected yellow vest and navy blue cropped blazer. I had intended to wear my nude wedges but at the last minute I gave in to laziness and opted for a pair of sequined canvas shoes (which I couldn't locate when I was taking these pics). To top it all off I DIYed an ankara headband.

What do you think of this skirt? I still have loads of fabric left so stay tuned for my next project.
