AUDREY'S STYLE: Black Maxi Dress + Turban

Hello lovelies!
One of the most interesting things that has happened to me style-wise since I got pregnant is that all the clothes that I had been dreaming of adding to my closet are now making appearances. I often laugh to myself and say that it took these nine months for me to venture out and look for clothing items that I love. For instance, I finally got a chance to wear wide-leg distressed denim, a black maxi dress and I have a grey maxi dress just waiting to make its debut. In the shoe department, even though I haven't bought any pairs of shoes for myself in a really, really long time, my boyfriend has been spoiling me by adding to my shoe collection. I love shoes and he has such great taste! I have also added two more handbags to my collection of bags (one of them is the vintage bag featured in today's post). One of my resolutions this year is to actually get some wear out of the clothes and accessories I already own since most of the things I have have either never been worn or have been worn once. In this respect, I will try to fill in the gaps in my closet rather than buy more and more things.
On to today's outfit post. I wore this black maxi dress to Church last Sunday. I bought it for maternity and also intend to keep wearing it after the baby is born. For Mass, I paired it with my red sweater (the weather is haywire again!) and red wedge sandals. It had rained the previous day so it was a bit wet outside, but since my feet swell quite easily these days, I now opt for sandals rather than closed shoes. I completed the outfit with my oxblood vintage handbag, black bead necklace and silver loop earrings.
My hair is a mess! I made lines (aka cornrows) some time back and have been meaning to undo them but I'm so busy and have no clue what to put in next. Since weaves are not my thing (I love them on other people but not on myself) and I'm tired of braids and having an afro, I'm left with little choice on what to do with my hair. Hence the attempted turban. This was a first for me. I liked the colours of the scarf so I decided to add it to my outfit in the form of headgear.
I'm now 35 weeks pregnant. You can tell from my puffy face and previous post on my third trimester memoirs that I am battling fluid retention. In spite of all that, baby and I are fine and very happy with each other. We're all (my family, friends and boyfriend of course) counting down the days now.

P.S. I am selling maternity dresses. You can make your orders at or on phone 0713 566 420 or even on my Facebook page. I just got new stock so hurry while they last!

What style options do you revert to when you don't know what to do with your hair? I need ideas please.

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Wednesday.
