MID-WEEK REFLECTIONS: APRIL

Hi all!!
I decided to start monthly feature called Mid-Week Reflections one Wednesday, or in this case Thursday, a month, to give you a brief summary of what has been going on in my life. I thought it would be a good way for you, my lovely readers to get to know me on a personal level besides my love for fashion and personal style.

ON BLOGGING
First and foremost, I would like to say a big WELCOME to all my new readers and THANK YOU to all of you who have stuck around as I struggled to start blogging again.
After a looong hiatus, I started blogging again and this time with new found passion. A number of people have told me how much they enjoy my blog and my style. If you have ever been praised when you are feeling down, you know what a morale booster a little praise is.
One of my new found loves when it comes to blogging is trying out new styles, experimenting with hair and make up more and not being afraid of standing out from a crowd.
Did you know Google Reader is being shut down? I have a few alternatives to following my blog: Bloglovin', Networked Blogs, Facebook and Twitter for now.

ON LIFE
You know how when you start a new friendship or relationship everything is smooth and easy? Then after the honeymoon period you start asking yourself why you even bother? I recently figured out that instead of quickly giving up on relationships that I have formed, I will learn to love the person as he or she is instead of trying to change them into what I would like them to be. As much as I struggle to always be myself, it isn't fair that I expect other people to change to fit my criteria of what is and isn't acceptable.

ON ACCEPTANCE
Apart from accepting other people as they are, I am now learning to accept everything that happens as a step in the fulfillment of my destiny. Life has many ups and downs and I am tired of constantly complaining. For instance we had no electricity the whole afternoon yesterday and as much as I had so many things to do, I decided to look at it as an opportunity to empty my closet, catch up on my reading and get a little extra cleaning done. My new mantra is to see the glass as half full not as half empty.

Do you have any new struggles? How are you learning to cope with them?

Happy Thursday!!!

xo
