MID-WEEK REFLECTIONS

Hi all!!
I decided to start monthly feature called Mid-Week Reflections one Wednesday a month, to give you a brief summary of what has been going on in my life. I thought it would be a good way for you, my lovely readers to get to know me on a personal level besides my love for fashion and personal style.

On Blogging
As you might have noticed, I have not been blogging very frequently.
2013 has started on a different note for me, from what I had hoped. The holiday seemed to end too fast and before I knew it I was back in the office, with no editorial calender and very little inspiration for blogging.
I've tried all the things that I could think of to get my mojo back, but no amount of shopping, Pinterest or blog reading can get me back. I don't know what else to do.

On Life
My New Profile Picture
After going through very many ups and downs last year in my relationship, I finally decided to let go and take the giant leap into the unknown. I was terrified and excited at the same time; terrified because it had been long since I was by myself and excited because I was finally doing something that I had been thinking about for a very long time. And thank goodness I did. So many new things have happened that never would have had I not taken this major step.
I met someone who is amazing, to say the least. He's funny, understanding, has made me love the outdoors and doesn't judge me no matter what I tell him or I do. I feel so blessed to have met him (name withheld because I'm not sure he'll be comfortable with me naming him here).

On Moving On
In these first weeks of 2013, I've learnt so much about myself and about moving on. I now realize that in order to move on from past mistakes and previous relationships, I have to forgive. I've learnt to forgive myself and to forgive others and in this way I have found peace.
I have also learnt to let my no be no and my yes be yes. I came to see that I am too lenient at times, both with myself and with others. It had reached a point where making simple decisions became difficult.

This is a brief highlight of what has been happening in my life. I really hope I can get back to blogging soon.

How has your new year been?

Happy Wednesday

xo

  1. Forgiveness is a huge part of moving on and growing. I wish it could happen within like a day or whatever, but it's REALLY hard for me to forgive so it takes a lot longer. I'm praying for you girl!

  2. I love what you have started Audrey. It is good. Breaking up and moving on ain't easy coz people are always afraid of being alone in the world. It is a great move and like you, I had to decide my no to be a no and my yes to be a yes and to stand my ground on every decision that I make. Can't wait to see more of it :)

  3. @Undiscovered Worth Thanks Kashara. It's kinda comforting to know that someone out there has a similar struggle (not that I'm rejoicing in your struggles lol!)

  4. @Merilyn Kawira I look forward to writing more posts. It's so refreshing sharing something about myself with you. I find it encouraging knowing that I am not alone. Keep up with your resolution.
